Welcome Lyla Grebe!

Congratulations to Todd Grebe and Angela Oudean Grebe on the birth of their first child.

Lyla Louise Grebe was born in Anchorage, AK on Saturday, April 4, at 12:10 a.m. She weighed in at 8 lbs, 8 ozs, and stretched out to 22”. As you can see from the photo, she clocked in with a full head of hair.

Angela and Todd have long been prominent on the Alaskan music scene, and had performed together as members of Bearfoot and Todd Grebe and Cold Country. Bearfoot was founded as an Alaskan group, but eventually migrated to Nashville in 2010, where Todd joined the band. They appear to be on inactive status at this time, understandably, but Todd has recently completed a new CD with Cold Country. It’s called Citizen, and is a traditional/alt country project.

Best of luck to the new parents, and a hearty bluegrass welcome to Lyla Grebe!

Todd Grebe and Angela Oudean duet project

Nora Jane Struthers isn’t the only member of Bearfoot planning an outside project this Spring. Guitarist Todd Grebe and fiddler Angela Oudean have begun working as a duo.

The pair, who partner as well in affairs of the heart, started their eponymous act primarily to keep busy and stay fresh on weekends when Bearfoot is free. They will be performing music that Todd has written, as they do in a side band project, Todd Grebe and Cold Country with David long and Mike Bub.

Angela says that there may a recording to come of this as well.

“We’re thinking of making an EP for the Duo project. Todd’s got some new tunes that we need put down, and I get to sing lots of harmony and play fiddle all over it! Yay!”

You can keep tabs on Todd and Angela online.
