It contains footage shot in 1939 at the old Martin shop on North Street, which was the site where these guitars were made by hand for nearly 100 years, until a new facility was built in the late 1950s.
The video is paired with Norman Blake and Tony Rice’s recording of (D-18 Song) Thank You Mr. Martin, written by Jerry Faires, which was included on Blake & Rice 2 in 1990.
