They filmed both abroad and in their native Blue Ridge mountains of Virginia, and have taken to Kickstarter to raise the funds to get their documentary film, The Mountain Music Project: A Musical Odyssey from Appalachia to Himalaya, printed and released, along with a companion CD.
The film has been completed for some time, and been screened across the US. Tara and Danny have been interviewed by WAMU and the film has been covered by NPR. The crowd sourcing campaign is to raise funds to get it all out to the people, via DVD and CD.
We (at The Mountain Music Project) have just launched a kickstarter campaign to try to finally get our documentary film and our CD printed and released.
