A number of artists have sought to combine their passions for music and sport fishing, including Larry Keel who has hosted a number of events like Bass & Grass, and Trout and Tunes.
Now Edgar Loudermilk is getting into the act with a new event called the Great Alaskan Fish ‘n Pick, to be held for the first time in August of this year in King Salmon, AK. It will combine 3 days of instrumental bluegrass workshops taught by top professional players, with Alaskan fishing (with local guides), and bear watching opportunities.
The bluegrass faculty will feature Jason Davis on banjo, Alan Bibey on mandolin, Jeff Autry on guitar, and Edgar on bass. These guys can regularly be found teaching at major worships and camps – but how often can you combine such high-level instruction with Alaskan game fishing?
The first Great Alaskan Fish ‘n Pick will be hosted August 29-31 at the King Salmon Lodge, which adjoins the Katmai National Park and Preserve. Gourmet food and accommodations at the lodge are included in the package.
More details can be found by visiting their website, or by contacting Edgar online.
