But not so the busy bees in the Bluegrass Today development department. They’ve been slaving away, chained to their keyboards, battling the demons of poorly-conceived purchased code, and making the world safe for banjos and fiddles on the Internet.
OK… not so much chained to their keyboards. But we do offer a tip of the hat and a deep bow of gratitude to our development team who have been hard at it for months, completing several new modules that we will be announcing over the next few weeks. It’s in keeping with our goal to bring all the things bluegrass lovers like to do online under a single umbrella, making Bluegrass Today the most comprehensive online destination for grassers of every sort.
Today we officially announce our Events Directory, where any bluegrass-related event can be listed at no charge. These can include musical performances, workshops, jam sessions, association meetings… anything that is bluegrass in nature. It could be a major festival running for several days, a Thursday night jam, or a local event in your neighborhood pub.
Artists, venues, and event producers can post their shows, including multiple images, direct links to your web site and email, plus formatted text descriptions and other contact information for free.
Once your listing goes live, viewers can quickly add it to their favorite online calendar system (Outlook, Google, Yahoo or iCal). They (or you) can also share the listing with a single click to Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Pinterest or dozens of other popular social networking sites.
Take a quick look at the directory by clicking here and see how other event producers have listed their shows, and we think you’ll see how valuable this free resource can be for you. It takes only a few minutes to create a listing, and it’s completely free!
You will need to be a registered member, and logged in to add a listing, but registration is fast and free. We don’t bombard you with email – unless you sign up for our daily email newsletter.
All listings must first be approved by administrators, but only to ensure that they are bluegrass-oriented, and properly formatted.
You will always be able to quickly find the Events section by clicking the In The Community menu at the top of each page.
Bluegrass Today is committed to building the most comprehensive and user-friendly bluegrass and acoustic music event database online, and our crack team is already hard at work on the next generation of this Events Directory.
