Bobby Slone passes

We have learned that fiddle and bass player Bobby Slone passed away yesterday (12 August). He was suffering with cancer and had been ill for some time.

Slone is most famous for his part in the J.D. Crowe and the New South band that recorded the eponymous LP released in 1975 by Rounder Records (#0044).

We will publish an extensive appreciation of Bobby Slone’s life in music in due course.
