Blake Johnson recovering after surgery

IIIrd Tyme Out bassist Blake Johnson has been in the hospital again, with doctors trying to relive his chronic abdominal pain, and find out why he has been unable to eat. Blake has been suffering from pancreatitis and kidney problems, making his participation with the band an iffy proposition this past few months.

We caught up with his wife, Amber, over the weekend, and she shared an update on his condition. She said that his surgery went well last week, but that he is still in post-surgical pain. Doctors had hoped that both problems were being caused by a peritoneal dialysis tube to his stomach, so they replaced it with a dialysis port in his neck. So far he is doing well keeping clear liquids down, and Amber is very optimistic.

Once his condition can be stabilized, Blake will be waiting for a kidney transplant, and his friends and family have started a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for his current and future medical expenses, and to support his young family during this time.
