I Don’t Wanna Be Me Anymore from Nick Chandler & Delivered

Pinecastle Records has new music as well this week for Nick Chandler & Delivered, another track from their next project together.

This one is another gem from bluegrass hitmaker David Stewart called I Don’t Want To Be Me Anymore, which looks at the feeling when everything about your life feels out of whack, and you just want to be someone else.

Nick says it was fun to record, as it isn’t the sort of song they normally choose.

“I am so excited to finally release this great song. David Stewart has written so many great tunes and we are proud to record one of them. I really like how this song is traditional bluegrass with a little different feel than what we normally record. I think it’s very important to continue to grow and progress as a band to keep the fans interested in your music. It’s fun to work on new songs that may not be in your usual lane but still traditional bluegrass, with a twist.”

Plus, he says, cutting this one marked his return from a close brush with severe illness last year.

“This is a special song for us because it is the first recorded project we were able to do after my bout with COVID. After being sick for so long I was not sure if I would ever get to record again. I’m so thankful to my band and Pinecastle Records for sticking by me. I hope everyone enjoys I Don’t Wanna Be Me Anymore.”

Chandler, on mandolin and lead vocal, is supported by his bandmates Hudson Bosworth on guitar, Zach McCracken on banjo, and Gary Trivette on bass.

Slowly Getting You Out of the Way video from Nick Chandler

Pinecastle Records has released a new music video for their current single with Nick Chandler & Delivered, Slowly Getting You Out of the Way.

Fresh off his difficult but ultimately successful battle with COVID 19, Nick looks and sounds great, and says that they had originally planned to shoot this back in October.

“I am so excited about our single, Slowly Getting You Out Of The Way. Due to my illness we were not able to shoot a video when the song first released. I’m so happy we were finally able to get with all the great folks at Pinecastle and shoot this video. Special thanks to Gary, Hudson, and Zach for sticking with me these last few months. I’m so proud of these guys and I hope you all enjoy this tune.”

The song is a classic from Randall Hylton which has been recorded several times by bluegrass artists, perhaps most memorably by The Bluegrass Cardinals and Flatt Lonesome. Now Nick Chandler & Delivered put their own spin on this timeless number.

Nick is supported by regular bandmates, Zach McCracken on banjo, Gary Trivette on bass, and Hudson Bosworth on guitar. Chandler plays mandolin and sings the lead.

Slowly Getting You Out Of The Way by Nick Chandler & Delivered is available now from popular download and streaming sites online.

We’re all delighted that Nick is back on his feet, with a full season of shows booked for 2022.

Nick Chandler & Delivered to Pinecastle, new single drops

Pinecastle Records has announced the signing of traditional grassers, Nick Chandler & Delivered, to the label, and released a debut single from the band’s upcoming album.

The North Carolina group is fronted by mandolinist and lead singer Chandler, supported by Zach McCracken on banjo, Hudson Bosworth on guitar, and Gary Trivette on bass.

They specialize in a smooth bluegrass sound and already have a total of five self-produced projects. The first three were Gospel bluegrass, and the next two have included secular material primarily, though Gospel bluegrass is still a part of their show.

Chandler says that he is delighted with their new label.

“I am so excited about the new partnership with Pinecastle Records. To share a label with the biggest names in bluegrass is such an honor. I am really looking forward to working with Lonnie Lassiter, Ethan Burkhardt, and the whole Pinecastle team. Pinecastle Records is a great fit for Nick Chandler and Delivered.”

For their first Pinecastle release, they have chosen a modern classic of the genre, Slowly Getting You Out Of The Way, written by Randall Hylton, and notably recorded previously by Flatt Lonesome and Johnny Williams. But Nick and the guys slow it down a bit, and sing most of the verses and choruses in three part harmony. It’s a nice variation on this familiar song.

This track will be included on their first Pinecastle album, expected early in 2022.

Nick Chandler & Delivered to Mosaic Artist Agency

The Mosaic Artist Agency in Nashville has announced the signing of Nick Chandler & Delivered for booking representation.

Nick and the guys specialize in traditional bluegrass, and have five albums to their credit, the most recent of which, Inside The Lines, is on 615 Hideaway Records. Like many bluegrass acts, they got started in Gospel music, but now include both secular and spiritual music in their show.

He says that they are all delighted with this new partnership.

“I’m so excited to work with Brandy Miller and Mosaic Artist Agency. We are thrilled about the opportunities this partnership will provide. Brandy and her team are hard workers that are dedicated to providing excellent experiences, and that is exactly the right fit for Nick Chandler and Delivered.”

For those who don’t recall, Brandy was something of a sensation in the bluegrass world when she was a teenager, capturing attention for her fluid banjo picking, and releasing her first album, BrandyGrass at age 14. She won top honors in the banjo competition in Galax in 2012, recorded with The Daughters of Bluegrass, and was named a Huber Youth Showcase Artist, which came with a new five.

We’ll let her fill us in on what came next, leading to her launching her own agency to represent artists.

“In 2015, I took my first full time road gig with Chosen Road as their banjo player. I was there for around a year or so, but decided that road life wasn’t the right fit for me at the time. Then in 2017, while at IBMA, Jonathan Buckner with Chosen Road approached me and asked if I would be interested in working for them in the office, handling booking, etc. I’ve always loved the music, and I still wanted to be a part of it, so it made perfect sense to try my hand in the business side of the music industry.

In October of 2017 I started handling all of the booking and social media management for Chosen Road. I’ve absolutely loved every minute of it, and they are just great guys to work for. However, in 2020 I wanted to spread my wings and start my own agency. Thankfully, Jonathan and the rest of the guys with Chosen Road gave me their blessing. They also agreed to sign on as my first artist on the roster. In the latter part of 2020, I also signed Delnora Reed and Dani Flowers. They are both phenomenal singer/songwriters.

I am so excited that as of this past month we’ve added Nick Chandler and Delivered as the newest artist to our roster. Mosaic Artist Agency is about one thing, and that is making a positive impact in the world around us through the music we love. Every one of our artists embody this idea in the music they make, and the lives they live. We specialize primarily in booking and social media management. We’ve been humbled by the inquiries we’ve had from so many great bands about Mosaic Artist Agency, but right now we want to provide quality services. That being said, we are really being selective about who we work with and how many artists we are servicing.

I am so thankful to be on this journey I am on. I’m blessed to work with some amazing musicians who do such a great job representing the music I love. I’m also blessed to have two great girls on my team in Kendra McKinnon and Hannah Williams. Some folks might recognize Kendra as a part of Moonstruck Management’s team from years ago.”

She is plenty excited about working with Chandler as well.

“As for the newest addition to our roster, we couldn’t be more happy about signing Nick Chandler and Delivered. We’ve never met a harder working group of guys. Their material is top notch, Nick is a perfectionist, and they just happen to be from the mountains of Western North Carolina….a place I’m proud to call home. In my opinion, Nick Chandler is also one of the most underrated mandolin players out there. His style of mandolin playing is one that is just not easily replicated. It reminds me a lot of Doyle’s, but he definitely has a style that is uniquely his own.”

In addition to Nick on mandolin, Delivered is Spencer Hatcher on banjo, Hudson Bosworth on guitar, and Gary Trivette on bass.

Here they are in a video produced by 615 Hideaway of their hit song, Big Bill Johnson.

Hello – new single from Nick Chandler & Delivered

615 Hideaway Records has released a debut single to radio from their second album with Nick Chandler & Delivered. It’s one called Hello, written by Jonathan Edwards, which will serve as the title track later this spring.

This is the first recording with the current edition of the group, with Chandler on mandolin and lead vocals, Will Eller on banjo, Hudson Bosworth on guitar, and newest member Gary Trivette on bass.

Nick says that he is fond of Edwards music, which often had elements of bluegrass to it, and thinks this one is a fine choice for the new record.

“I have always been drawn to songs written by Jonathan Edwards, and after hearing this tune I knew it would be perfect for us. I love the lyrics, and I knew that Gary and I could sing harmony through the whole song to really make it pop. We are putting a lot of thought and care into this new album and we thought it would be appropriate to name the whole project Hello. Not just because it’s the name of the first single, but because it’s a Hello from all of us. This being our third album we hope that our music will be introduced to more and more folks. We sure hope that everyone enjoys Hello as much as we enjoyed recording it.”

A Tree That Stands Alone video from Nick Chandler & Delivered

615 Hideaway Records has released a new single from Nick Chandler & Delivered, the third from their current album, Inside The Lines.

It’s their take on A Tree That Stands Alone, a Randal Hylton song previously recorded by The Country Gentlemen in 1988. Nick and the guys hew pretty much to The Gents’ arrangement, and offer a lovely version of this classic, feel good number.

Chandler says that he has been itching to see this one get out.

“I have been really excited about the release of this single. This is a song I have wanted to record for a long time, and I am so pleased with how it came together on the recording. I love the message and lyrics, and I think that it is a great time to release a song like this one. I really like the way the banjo and mandolin play off each other in this tune. The harmonies are exactly like I envisioned them to be, and I am very proud of how this song turned out. I hope everyone enjoys our new single, The Tree That Stands Alone.”

The video was shot on stage at Nashville’s storied Station Inn with Nick on mandolin, Spencer Hatcher on banjo, Hudson Bosworth on guitar, and Gary Trivette on bass.

A Tree That Stands Alone, and the full Inside The Lines album are available now wherever you stream or download music online, and on CD directly from the band. Radio programmers can find the tracks at AirPlay Direct.

Nick has recently launched an email newsletter for fans and friends, and encourages everyone to sign up to stay informed about their music, their comings and goings, and everything else Delivered. You can sign up on the band web site.

Nick Chandler & Delivered virtual album release show in Nashville

Nick Chandler & Delivered had planned to host a live album release party last week even before the COVID-19 virus spread from Asia and Europe to the United States early this year. But once restrictions made clear that they wouldn’t be able to go through with that plan, they put their heads together with their record label and came up with a workaround.

It helped that their label was 615 Hideaway Records in Nashville, who specialize in broadcasting live music performances online. So Nick easily worked it out to host a virtual album release party for Inside The Lines this past Saturday via Facebook Live. Label head Sammy Passamano ran the board and switched the show live, which was enjoyed by a group of loyal fans online.

Nick shared some photos from Saturday, and you can still watch the show on the Bluegrass Music TV Facebook page. The virtual tip jar is still available as well for anyone who would like to send along a little something from Nick and the guys.

Inside the Lines – Nick Chandler & Delivered

Although its title suggests the possibility of some sort of subterfuge, Inside the Lines, the latest album from North Carolina’s Nick Chandler & Delivered, is as revealing and straight-forward as they come. Named an IBMA Official Ramble Showcase Artist in 2019, Chandler and company continue to celebrate their love for traditional bluegrass with an effusive set of songs that’s as varied as it is vibrant. Chandler wrote the majority of its offerings, but all four musicians — Chandler (vocals, mandolin), Will Eller (banjo, vocals), Gray Trivette (bass, vocals), and Hudson Bosworth (vocals, guitar) — combine their talents for a sound that shines in sync.

Chandler himself has earned his place at the top of the marquee, given his years of working the road and picking up any number of accolades in the process. Having been formerly focused on playing Gospel bluegrass, he made a shift of sorts with the band’s highly praised previous album, Groceries, Gas and Used Cars. Its successor, Inside the Lines, suggests that that initial effort wasn’t some sort of fluke, and given the ease and affability invested in these dozen songs, it’s all too obvious that the he and the band have found their true niche.

That already became evident when the album’s lead track, Big Bill Johnson, recently garnered Chandler yet another honor when he named one of this year’s IBMA Showcase Finalists. The song that follows, Two Timer, finds the same uptick in energy, suggesting the two songs may have been birthed simultaneously. After a brief respite with the well measured She’s Come Too Far, A Tree That Stands Alone picks up the pace once again.

The rest of the set follows the same tack. Another of Chandler’s compositions, I Can’t Wait, returns the band to its Gospel roots via the band’s fast, frenzied picking and its spot-on harmonies. The mournful Man Who Drank Her Life Away deals with the tragic end of what should have been an enduring relationship. I Just Got Tired of Being Poor offers a sprightly tale of what turned an otherwise honorable man to a petty criminal. Do You Remember boasts a hook that’s absolutely infectious, while Trviette’s So Sad and Brokenhearted underscores its lovelorn tale with a gentle and supple sway.

In the end, there’s no need to read outside the lines, between the lines, or anywhere else. All that’s required to fully appreciate Nick Chandler & Delivered’s astute efforts is easily found here, Inside the Lines.
