The Walnut Valley Festival runs 5 days each September that include hands on music related workshops, four stages providing over 200 hours of live professionally performed acoustic music, 8 different acoustic instrument championship contests – International Autoharp and Finger Style Guitar, National Flat Pick Guitar, Bluegrass Banjo, Mandolin, Hammer and Mountain Dulcimer, and the Walnut Valley Old Time Fiddle Championship. The Festival includes a large Arts & Craft Show. The Walnut Valley Festival is famous for the campground jam sessions that go nearly around the clock. Music lovers come to this event in South central Kansas from around the world to compete in the contests and enjoy the family friendly music and atmosphere.
