The Northeast Fiddlers’ Convention at Hancock Shaker Village
Gates open at 10:00 am, Workshops start at 2:00. Instrument contests in the evening, Square dance to live music until midnight.

The host band for the day is the old time favorite Bill and the Belles with Nils Fredland, a well known historic dance teacher. Mandolin player Tara Linhardt will be leading workshops and managing the instrument contests. Activities for the day include Hancock Shaker Village demonstrations in historic Shaker Arts and Music, workshops by Bill and the Belles, Linhardt, and Fredland, A jam in the historic round stone barn, instrument contests, and a Square Dance led by Fredland, to music by Bill and the Belles. A “High Note” ticket for the event includes all the day and evening activities, plus a preview of the avant garde “Silo Songs” experience by musician Brad Wells in the Hancock Shaker Village silo, based on Shaker hymns. Locavore food vendors Sky View Farm, Sol Gypsy Food Truck, and Seeds Market Cafe will have hot food offerings, and local beer will also be served.
