Rotterdam Bluegrass Festival 2025

Rotterdam Bluegrass Festival is a raw, laid-back, and quirky celebration right in the heart of Rotterdam North. Every year, people from all walks of life gather at the Noordplein to jam, dance, laugh, and celebrate life together. It’s that very mix of people that makes everyone feel right at home.

Visitors often describe it as a three-day family gathering you actually want to be part of. A little cheesy? Sure. But we’re from Rotterdam. We’re not afraid of a bit of cheese.

In case you were wondering: what is bluegrass, anyway? We’ll explain in a minute, but honestly, that’s not even the most important part. Even though the biggest names from the international scene come together here, RBF is about so much more than just music. It all comes down to a unique blend of three words that say it all:

Rotterdam: open, welcoming, diverse, raw, quirky, funny, and innovative.

Bluegrass: folk music, heartfelt, acoustic, together, jamming, social, DIY.

Festival: PARTY.

Turns out it’s a golden combination. Since the start in 2009, our festival has grown a little bigger each year. But: it still feels small-scale and local, and it’s still just as accessible. We do everything we can to keep ticket prices low, and you’ll see the diversity reflected in our crossover program and in the festival line-up, featuring a vibrant mix of genres and artists from around the world.

Expect a surprising line-up, art, food, a school band, and a special VIP program (because we believe every single one is a Very Important Person).
