The Kruger Brothers, along with Erynn Marshall and Carl Jones, are coming to the Blue Ridge Music Center on Saturday June 30 at 7 p.m.!
Born and raised in Europe, brothers Jens and Uwe Kruger started singing and playing instruments at a very young age and were exposed to diverse musical influences. The brothers were performing regularly by the time they were 11 and 12 years old, and in just a few years they began busking throughout eastern and western Europe. Several years later, the brothers teamed up with bass player Joel Landsberg, a native of New York City with an extensive musical upbringing in classical and jazz music, thus forming a trio that has been playing professionally together since 1995. Together, they established an incomparable sound, intertwining classical and folk music. Today the trio is based in Wilkesboro, North Carolina.
Erynn Marshall and Carl Jones are old-time musicians and inspired tunesmiths. Married in life and music, the couple’s playing and voices blend like two forks of the same river. Southern duets and soaring fiddle, guitar, mandolin, and banjo tunes comprise their diverse concert sets. While rooted in the traditional sounds of older players, this duo stays true to their own muse. Jones’ honest songs can make your heart ache. Marshall’s spirited fiddling can enthrall.
