The Delaware Valley Bluegrass Festival has been sponsored annually since 1972 on Labor Day Weekend by the Brandywine Friends of Old Time Music, a non-profit organization based in Delaware whose mission is the presentation and preservation of traditional American music. It was recently honored as the Bluegrass event of the year.
Camping is free at the event. The Salem County Fairgrounds is a short drive from Interstate 95.
The Delaware Valley Bluegrass festival annually features the greats of Bluegrass Music. This year is the 50th festival and will honor the co-founders of the festival, Bill Monroe and Ralph Stanley. Performing at this years event are: Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder, Seldom Scene, Del McCoury Band, Gibson Brothers, Danny Paisley & Southern Grass, Michael Cleveland & Flamekeeper, Laurie Lewis & Right Hands, Claire Lynch, Country Current, Valerie Smith & Liberty Pike, Dom Flemons, Bob & Sarah Amos Band, New Ballards Branch Bogtrotters, Tuba Skinny,Tuesday Mountain Boys and Joseph Decosimo & Luke Richardson.
Also the festival includes a kids program and lots of jamming.
