Danny Paisley and The Southern Grass

Led by 2016 IBMA Male Vocalist of the Year Dan Paisley, this powerhouse band kicks off our 37th season of bluegrass with a literal “bang” as they tear into the opening downbeat. Long an Emelin favorite, Dan has played here many times, beginning in 1993 when his father Bob Paisley, fronted the band. Known for his emphatic vocals and hard-driving, traditional style, Dan has the uncanny ability to rediscover old bluegrass chestnuts and make them sound new again, as well as perform more recent songs, from ballads to breakdowns with characteristic intensity.
