Jim Penson has played in many Texas bluegrass bands including the Front Porch Boys, and DeAnn Spence and Full House. A luthier who repairs and restores banjos, guitars, and mandolins, Jim also teaches banjo, mandolin, and guitar, helping students trust their ears rather than read from tablature. His classes quickly get people jamming with ease, even those with limited instrumental skills.
