Date With An Angel video from Danny Paisley

Pinecastle Records has released a new music video for traditional bluegrass hero, Danny Paisley, a lovely three quarter time ballad from his current album, Bluegrass Troubadour. Coming on the heels of Paisley being named co-recipient of the IBMA’s Male Vocalist of The year award with Del McCoury last month, this track showcases exactly why he was so chosen.

The video is for Date With An Angel, written by Brink Brinkman, which follows the classic ‘story in three verses style,’ with the life of a simple man unfolding in roughly three minutes. Starting with him apprehensively approaching his first date as a young man, the story goes on to cover his wedding day, and then his final moments on earth, nicely illustrated in video by Danny and his son Ryan, who performs with his dad as a member of The Southern Grass – just as Danny had done with his father, Bob.

Danny says that Date With An Angel grabbed him right away.

“Brink Brinkman wrote about a beautiful love story that withstands the tests of time – that journey from youth to old age. It’s the kind of song I love to sing! I knew the moment I heard it that I wanted to record it.”
