Acoustic Blue – “This Is Now” Album released

Acoustic Blue is proud to announce the release of their third recording project entitled, “This Is Now”. The 15 song recording has some great material on it, ranging from songs written by members of the band like, “Carved Into A Stone” and “Best Of Her” to some great traditional numbers like, “I’ll Break Out Again Tonight” and “I’d Rather Be Alone”. The highlight of the album for the band was being honored to have their good friend, Smokey Greene, featured on the song “Don’t Tell Mama”. Between Corey Zink’s lead singing and Smokey’s recitation, it will just tear your heart out.

The band put a lot of thought into the song selection in hopes that there would be something for everyone to enjoy on it. The recording is available for purchase from Acoustic Blue’s official website, www.acousticblueonline.com and will soon be available from CDBaby and ITunes, as well as other locations.

4th Annual Mountain Song Festival: Friday, September 11, and Saturday, September 12, 2009

Tickets go on sale on Monday, May 11th for the 4th Annual Mountain Song Festival held in Brevard, NC. An event inspired by the region’s youth, the festival will once again help fund the Boys & Girls Club of Transylvania County and other youth focused organizations, and facilitate educational opportunities for children and adults.

This top-notch festival will again present outstanding talent at the world-renown Brevard Music Center with The David Grisman Quintet, The Seldom Scene, Shannon Whitworth & the Refugees, Town Mountain, and host band Steep Canyon Rangers taking to the stage.

Past Mountain Song Festival entertainers Doc Watson, the Del McCoury Band, IIIrd Tyme Out, Cherryholmes, Tim O’Brien, Sam Bush, Peter Rowan & Tony Rice Quartet, and Claire Lynch have helped to raise funds for the Boys & Girls Club of Transylvania County.

With over $100,000 raised for the charity, efforts of the event-organizers to "Go Green" (all vendors use eco-friendly compostable tableware), and surprise guests stunning the crowd (the multi-talented Steve Martin made a surprise guest appearance at the 2008 event, joining the Steep Canyon Rangers on stage to perform several banjo tunes) the Mountain Song Festival is quickly becoming one of the premier family-friendly events to attend.

For more information please visit the Mountain Song Festival web site at www.mountainsongfestival.com.
