WAMU to simulcast live show during World of Bluegrass

WAMUlogoBreaking from recent tradition, WAMU’s Bluegrass Country will not be broadcasting live each day during the IBMA’s World of Bluegrass convention next week. Instead, they will be hosting a big bluegrass show on Wednesday, October 1 from 8:00-10:00 p.m.

The show will be held at the WUNC studio facilities, just down the street from the convention center, but will not be open to the public. We’ll all be able to listen to the concert, though, on either WAMU from DC, or WUNC there in Raleigh. Both stations will simulcast the live feed.

Katy Daley will serve as MC for the evening, with the performance schedule as follows:

8:00 p.m. – The Gibson Brothers
8:30 p.m. – Claire Lynch Band
9:00 p.m. – Chatham County Line
9:30 p.m. – Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen

All times are eastern.

WAMU’s Bluegrass Country broadcasts in DC at 105.5 FM and online at www.bluegrasscountry.org. WAMU’s main radio signal, which will also broadcast the October 1 concert, can be found at 88.5 FM, and WUNC in Raleigh is at 91.5 FM.

The Bluegrass Country staff will also maintain a presence in the IBMA exhibit hall all next week, where you can meet your favorite online hosts, pick up all sorts of fun WAMU merchandise, and watch videos of live, in-studio performances at the station.
