Wally Hughes to Sweet Dixie

Event Details

touch

touchBill Emerson & Sweet Dixie have a couple of news bits for this afternoon.

First off, they are celebrating the official release of their latest CD, The Touch Of Time, on Rural Rhythm. It is now available wherever you might purchase recorded bluegrass music.

On top of that, the band has brought a new member into the group, Wally Hughes, who is now with them on fiddle. According to a statement from Sweet Dixie…

“Originally from Delaware and now residing in Virginia, Wally started on dobro at age 11 and moved on to the fiddle and other instruments soon after. He has had his own band in Delaware, and has played and recorded in a band with Steve Huber in the ’80s. Wally has also performed with Mike Auldridge as well as many other top DC area musicians.

The band feels that Wally is a great fit and is excited about the expanded musical possibilities going forward.”

Sweet Dixie is Emerson on banjo, Wayne Lanham on mandolin, Teri Chism on bass, Chris Stifel on guitar, and now Hughes on fiddle.
