Video documentary of successful Guinness Record attempt

The US mandolin world rejoiced on August 4 when a group of 491 mandolinists assembled at the Old Fiddlers Convention in Galax, VA to re-establish the Guinness World Record for largest mandolin ensemble.

Organizer Tara Linhardt is still awaiting final confirmation from Guinness that they have accepted this latest attempt, but she has all the paperwork done and it should be only a matter of time.

Last week we discovered a video documentary posted on YouTube that follows the record-breaking venture from registration through to completion. Our attempts to reach the videographer have been unsuccessful, so we don’t know their identity. But if you were part of the August 4 event, you’ll surely want to watch it.

We’ll update with any further details we are able to obtain.

Congratulations again to Tara, all her mando marshals, and everyone who showed up to play!
