Tyler Robertson to Kevin Prater Band

Tyler RobertsonThe Kevin Prater Band has announced the addition of Tyler Robertson on banjo.

Tyler is just 19 years old, but has already gained several years of experience playing bluegrass with Bobby Maynard and Breakdown, Cornerstone, Ned Crisp and Bottomline, and The Corey Hensley Band. He is proficient on several bluegrass instruments, and given Kevin’s tendency to switch between guitar and mandolin, Robertson may get a chance to exercise his chops on more than just banjo.

He joins Danny Stinter on bass, Tom Timberlake on guitar, and Albon Clevenger on fiddle.

The band is working now on completing a secular bluegrass album, following up on their 2014 Gospel release from 2014. They are working at Kevin’s Sound Makers Studio in Belcher, KY.

You can keep an eye on the band web site for updates about the album’s progress.
