Trinity River Band visits Duck Commander

Trinity River Band visits Duck CommanderCallahan, FL’s Trinity River Band has been very busy as of late, following the release of their album, Better Than Blue. They found themselves in West Monroe, LA last week, the home of the famous Robertson Family from A&E’s Duck Dynasty. Let’s just say, they had a “quack-tastic” time.

Avid fans of the show, visiting West Monroe, LA was a thrill for the Harris family, but this whirlwind of a trip was just beginning. Upon visiting Willie’s Duck Diner last Tuesday night, they were invited by the manager, Bucky Newell, to return the next morning with their instruments and do a little pickin’. They were even able to meet Willie Robertson!

As related by TRB banjo picker Josh Harris…

“Bucky led us through the kitchen back to the Robertson family’s private dining room, and when we entered the room, Willie was standing there, with his pastor, and we were able to visit with them for about 15 minutes. Willie is a great guy, very real and personable as you might expect!”

Following the eventful time at Willie’s Duck Diner, the band decided to head to the famous Duck Commander warehouse. After the staff found out they were a family bluegrass band, Trinity River Band was invited to play an impromptu show in the Duck Commander gift shop.

“Unbeknownst to us, another man named Terry, who was one of the managers there, was listening in, and apparently was rather enjoying it. After we finished playing he came up and offered to give us a private tour of the rest of the warehouse! He took us around and showed us all the places that they film the show in the warehouse such as, the basketball hoop, the duck call room, and the offices. We even all got to take turns chillin in Willie’s chair!”

Earlier in the day when they met Willie Robertson and his pastor at the diner, Willie’s pastor extended an invitation to the family to join them for Wednesday night church service. While at the service that evening, the Harris family saw many of the show’s regular cast from afar and were introduced to Phil and Kay Robertson before the night was over!

All in all, it was a dream come true for these bluegrass-pickin’ Duck Dynasty fans from Florida.

The new season of Duck Dynasty kicked off last week on A&E. New episodes air Wednesdays at 10:00 p.m. Eastern.
