Three new videos from Mr. Sun

Mr. SunMr. Sun is a contemporary string band based in Boston featuring Darol Anger, fiddle virtuoso in most every style, along with a trio of youngsters: mando monster Joe Walsh, flatpicker extraordinaire Grant Gordy, and bass wizard Ethan Jodziewicz. They perform a repertoire of their own original instrumental music, along with some fun songs that fit their specific approach.

Aside from their instrumental mastery, there is a playfulness to their music that falls somewhere between old time, bluegrass, swing, and what we used to call “new acoustic” back when Darol was a youngster himself.

They have no recorded material yet on offer, but have recently released a trio of videos that highlight what they do.

First up is A Stranger Came To Town, written by Walsh and Gordy…

Next is Ben’s House from Gordy…

And finishing with an old Eddy Arnold song, Just A Little Lovin‘, with Joe on vocal…

Fun stuff!
