The 2014 Bluegrass Grammy goes to…

This afternoon at the 2014 Grammy pre-show cybercast, the Best Bluegrass Album was awarded to The Del McCoury Band for The Streets of Baltimore.

As he generally does at the IBMA Awards, Del and the boys spoke until they got the “go away music.” Go Del!

Others nominated in this category were:

  • It’s Just A Road – The Boxcars, Mountain Home
  • Brothers Of The Highway – Dailey & Vincent, Rounder
  • This World Oft Can Be – Della Mae, Rounder
  • Three Chords And The Truth – James King, Rounder

Here are a few images from this weekend’s festivities.

  • Let me just say, in addition to congratulations to Del, that Sarah Jarosz was an elegant, precise and very charming presenter. She made Cyndi Lauper look like an amateur!

While I’m of course delighted that Del & Boys are at the Grammy winner’s lectern, I’m so pleased that James King was also nominated. Additionally, I’ve just about wore out “It’s Just a Road” by the Boxcars in my car CD player.
