Tennessee Shines goes live on WDVX

Event Details

WDVX FM, Based in Knoxville, TN, is set to launch a second live performance radio program next week. For years the station has included loads of bluegrass, both in its hosted programming, and during its lunch-time live concert show, Blue Plate Special.

Starting this coming Monday (3/5), WDVX is reaching back and resurrecting their Tennessee Shines program as a weekly live radio concert. The first episode will feature flatpick champ Steve Kaufman, singer-songwriters Jill Andrews and Sam Quinn, and multi-instrumentalist Daniel Kimbro. It, and subsequent shows, will air at 7:00 p.m. (EST).

Tennessee Shines will be held each week at the Knoxville Visitor Center before a live audience, with WDVX PD Tony Lawson as MC along with hosts Bob Deck and Paige Travis.

Listeners in East Tennessee can tune it at 89.9 FM, and a worldwide audience is invited to catch the show via live streaming online.
