Shannon Slaughter joins Grasstowne

Shannon SlaughterGrasstowne has announced that Shannon Slaughter has joined the band, playing guitar and singing lead.

But wait a minute… Doesn’t Shannon already have a band of his own, County Clare?

That’s right, but he and Alan Bibey with Grasstowne have come to an agreement to work around any potential scheduling conflicts, allowing Slaughter to perform with both.

If you were in attendance at the SPBGMA conference in Nashville earlier this month, you would have seen Shannon with the new, four-piece version of Grasstowne. From all reports, his aggressive rhythm guitar and gritty vocals fit the band well, and all the members of the band are rarin’ to go.

Bibey has high praise for his new guitar man.

Alan Bibey“I’ve admired Shannon’s talents for many years now and we are really looking forward to playing together. Shannon is one of the top guitar player/singer/songwriters in the business today as well as just being a great guy to travel with.  Our new project Grasstowne 4 will be completed soon with the addition of Shannon and of course featuring long time members Justin Jenkins and Kameron Keller. Shannon will continue to front his own band County Clare on limited dates.

Welcome aboard Shannon!!”

And Shannon said that the fit is good for him.

“These guys like to play the same sort of grass I do. They’re all great musicians and great guys, and I’m sure we can work out the schedules so I can do their shows and ones with County Clare.”

Shannon will add vocals to the band’s next CD, the long-awaited Grasstowne 4, which is expected later this year on Mountain Fever.

You can follow the Grasstowne schedule online.
