Friday morning (2/24) will find Sammy Shelor of Lonesome River Band visiting Lonesome Pine RFD, airing on WFDU in the New York City metro market.

Sam will join host Carol Beaugard at 11:00 a.m. (EDT) to talk about LRB’s new 8 song CD, Chronology – Volume 1, due to hit February 28 on Rural Rhythm. You can expect Carol to spin a few tracks from this special album which takes a new look at some of the music released by previous editions of the band over their 30 year history in bluegrass.

She also promises to get Shelor’s take on winning the 2011 Steve Martin Award for Excellence in Banjo and Bluegrass, and his subsequent appearance with Martin on The Tonight Show.

New Yorkers and Jerseyites can listen live at 89.1 FM, as can anyone with an Internet connection at wfdu.fm.
