Ronnie Reno and Rural Rhythm

When Rural Rhythm Records moved east to Nashville from California two years ago, one stated reason was to seek television and video opportunities for the label and its artists. Shortly after they arrived, company President Sam Passamano announced a deal with BlueHighways TV, and today they have another major partnership to announce.

Legendary musician, television personality, and music businessman Ronnie Reno has entered into an agreement with Rural Rhythm to utilize his many skills in a variety of different projects. Look for Reno to be involved in production and development for both music and video, as well as marketing and distribution.

Ronnie says he sees his mission as clear…

“I feel like my dad, Don Reno, left me in charge of making sure the next generations who play bluegrass and traditional country understand where our music came from through video and documentaries. Hopefully the next generation will be able to take it to the next level with their own talent to keep it exciting and fresh for generations to come.”

They will soon start work on a video documentary project on how rural radio and the barn dance tradition shaped the development of bluegrass and old time music. There will also be a new Ronnie Reno & Reno Tradition album, and discussions are underway about bringing a road version of Reno’s Old Time Music Show with special guests to major markets around the country.

More details on all these ventures should be forthcoming.
