Rodney Dillard – Don’t Wait For The Hearse

Rodney Dillard, he of The Dillards and the Darlin’ Family fame, has a new Gospel CD set for an August 16 release on Rural Rhythm Christian.

Titled Don’t Wait For The Hearse To Take You To Church, the album features Rodney on vocals, guitar and resonator guitar, his wife Beverly on vocals and banjo, George Giddens on fiddle, mandolin and vocals, Tim Crouch on fiddle and mandolin, Marty Wilhite on bass, Pete Generous on percussion and Jim Glaspy on harmony vocals.

Tracks include Gospel favorites like When My Times To Go, Leaning On The Everlasting Arms, Heaven, Somebody Touched Me, and River Of Jordan. There are also a few tracks featuring Rodney in recitation, voicing brief messages about “Mayberry Values,” something that is an important of the ministry they bring to churches they visit across the US.

Here’s a sample of the title track, written by 5-time Dove Award winning songwriter Bruce Haynes.
