New single, new sound from Monroeville

MonroevilleMonroeville has offered a glimpse of their new sound with a catchy, upbeat, bluegrass/county single written by guitarist Eli Johnson.

So Far is produced with a country vibe, but played with bluegrass instruments (and drums). It’s a change in direction for the band that is looking to expand their audience without losing their bluegrass identity.

The band is Johnson on guitar and lead vocals, Matt Munsey on mandolin, Travis Houck on reso-guitar, Carl White on bass and Rachel Mayanovic on fiddle. Eli also plays banjo on the track.

The single is available for sale now in iTunes, and radio programmers can download the track from Airplay Direct. A new band project is in the works.

Here’s a live video of the song, from the band’s purple period.
