We heard yesterday from Jr. Williams, banjo picker with Kati Penn and Newtown, about the band’s debut CD. This self-titled project is due in late October, featuring new songs from Jon Weisberger, Jeremy Garrett, Sarah Siskind, John Frazier, Dee Gaskin, Mark Simos and Travis Book.
The group consists of Kati on fiddle and lead vocals with James Kee on mandolin, C.J. Cain on guitar and Terry Poirer on bass. In addition to holding down the banjo gig in Kati’s band, Jr. also serves in the husband position.
