Mountain Songs from Shawn Lane

| July 23, 2014 | 0 Comments

Mountain_SongsMountain Songs, the upcoming solo project from Blue Highway’s Shawn Lane, is set for release on August 20.

Shawn says that he recorded this one with several members of his talented family, names that may not be familiar to bluegrass fans. But you’ll surely recognize these folks who also helped track the project: Barry Bales, Rob Ickes, Jimmy Stewart, Josh Miller, and Patton Wages.

Ten of the twelve tracks are songs that Shawn wrote, including co-writes with Ronnie Bowman, Gerald Ellenburg, and Jimmy Stewart. The others are Toy Caldwell’s Texas On My Mind, and Lane’s arrangement of Amazing Grace.

There are no audio samples available just yet, but Shawn expects to have pre-orders enabled online before Blue Highway returns from France in early August. His web site isn’t operational at this point, but should be up by July 28.

Mountain Songs will certainly be something to look forward to.
