Mountain Heart, Charlie Sizemore on Mountain Stage

There’s bluegrass a’plenty on this weekend’s edition on Mountain Stage, airing on dozens of NPR affiliates across the US.

Nashville bad boys Mountain Heart will be featured, as well as Michigan’s Greensky Bluegrass and the singing bluegrass attorney, Charlie Sizemore – who is sure to perform his current hit, No Lawyers In Heaven.

Jim Van Cleve, fiddler with Mountain Heart, tells us that the guys have powerful memories from the taping.

Mountain Stage is one of the longest running and most successful music-focused radio shows on NPR, and is syndicated to well over 100 different markets. So being asked to make our return appearance on the show in support of our latest album (That Just Happened) was, of course, an honor.

It was made especially so when we found out that their executive director of 25 plus years (745 consecutive shows), would be retiring on the night of our performance, and that we’d all have the opportunity to celebrate his departure in song, like never before on the show. It was a big honor to be asked to headline such a prestigious program in the first place, but to be brought in for that particular night was over the top.

It was an AWESOME night of music, from the top to the bottom… just an incredible vibe. We are absolutely stoked for it to air!”

Mountain Stage airs at times chosen by their affiliates. Check the station list online for the times in your area.

Audio and backstage video from each show are available on the NPR site within a few days of the show’s airing, where it is archived for on-demand listening.
