Live DVD coming from Lou Reid & Carolina

Lou Reid & Carolina have announced that they will be taping a live concert DVD on December 1 at The Down Home in Johnson City, TN. Both the concert and the video are in celebration of the band’s 20th anniversary performing as Carolina.

Lou started the band partnered with Terry Baucom in 1992, and has kept it active after Terry’s departure and Reid assuming the mandolin position with Seldom Scene following John Duffey’s passing in ’96. He has 8 recordings with Carolina, and a solo project to his credit since forming the band.

The live taping will be done with the current group, though some special guests may be added before the show. Lou will be on mandolin and lead vocal, Christy Reid on bass, Trevor Watson on banjo, and Kevin Richardson on guitar.

Reid tells us that they are still finalizing material for the video, but thinks there could be a mix of both new and previously-recorded songs on the finished product.

Should be a good’n.
