Live chat with Jim Lauderdale

Jim LauderdaleIf you’re an established songwriter or an aspiring one, here’s an event you’ll want to take notice of. Jim Lauderdale will be participating in a live chat on Facebook, on Tuesday, February 1, at 7 PM EST. The chat will take place on the Facebook page for the Chris Austin Songwriting Contest. The contest is part of the yearly festivities at MerleFest, one of the premier destination festivals in the country.

The live chat is open to questions concerning the contest specifically, or songwriting in general. To participate in the chat, you will need your own facebook account, and you will need to “Like” the Chris Austin Songwriting Contest page.

Hosted by MerleFest 2011 and now in its 19th year, the Chris Austin Songwriting Contest is an extraordinary opportunity for aspiring writers to have their original songs heard and judged by a panel of Nashville music industry professionals.

A Grammy winning performer and songwriting, Jim Lauderdale is the volunteer chairperson of MerleFest’s Chris Austin Songwriting Contest. He is well known both in bluegrass and country circles as an accomplished songwriter.

You’ve got exactly one week to come up with your questions and prepare for this opportunity. Use it wisely!
