Joe Mullins & The Radio Ramblers release free digital album

Live - Fan FavoritesJoe Mullins & The Radio Ramblers have just released a free EP entitled Live – Fan Favorites, available only as a digital download.

While the download is free, the Ramblers ask that you mention them on Facebook and/or Twitter and tell all your friends about it! Their Facebook is /theradioramblers and their Twitter handle is @RadioRamblers. Also, they are accepting tips for the album which can be donated when you download the album.

Joe has this to say about this latest chapter in their musical history:

“We started the year with a concert at Edison Community College in Piqua, OH. Yes, we did record the performance and we are finally making some of those tunes available. We have also been busy in the studio and in rehearsal prepping for an all new CD scheduled for release on Rebel Records later this year.

While an all-live CD is not going to be available at this time, we do have a 6 song download as our gift to you, entitled Live – Fan Favorites, recorded at the concert in January. We are so thankful for the blessings of six years together and for the dedication and support of our families – what a team! Hopefully, our teamwork comes across in every effort on stage.

Live – Fan Favorites: Joe Mullins and the Radio Ramblers

  • I Can’t Go On This Way
  • Steel Guitar Rag
  • Smoke Along the Track
  • Rank Strangers
  • Ashokan Farewell
  • Katie Daley

Over the past few years, we have had hundreds of requests to record a few of the instrumentals and Bluegrass classics you will find available for download on the home page of www.radioramblers.com or www.noisetrade.com/radioramblers.

We hope you will share the enthusiasm of the audience we enjoyed during this memorable night. Live – Fan Favorites is the title, but we almost decided to call this recording “Warts and All”! It’s all here – nothing fine tuned, faked or fabricated, just the five of us full blast into the same microphones we always use on stage. ALL of our vocals and the banjo work are always around one microphone.

Special thanks to Jerry Hudson – a great friend of the Ramblers and the producer of our annual concert at Edison. I should also mention our version of Katy Daley, a tune we have closed hundreds of shows with in memory of my Dad, the late Paul “Moon” Mullins. He was the first bluegrass artist to arrange and record the old story of Katy back in 1962, with a band called the Bluegrass Playboys. What a classic from 50 years ago!”

Live – Fan Favorites is available through Noisetrade, which provides artists with the capability to give away their music for free as digital downloads. It is a completely free and legal site which bluegrass artists should consider utilizing. An article regarding Noisetrade and how it benefits both the artist and the fan is forthcoming.
