The transcriptions were created by Russell Sawler, the same New Brunswick banjoist who did tabs for the several Ron Stewart banjo books. As he has done with his other books, Sawler transcribed the entire album, including all solos and complete backup from Jason’s album.
Davis has also checked the transcriptions for accuracy, so you know it’s exactly what he played.
Second Time Around includes both banjo instrumentals and vocal numbers, so anyone interested in analyzing Jason’s style – and learning his licks – will find a wealth of material here to study.
Despite his youth, Jason Davis is roundly celebrated as among the finest traditional bluegrass banjo players on the scene today. He performs as a member of Junior Sisk & Ramblers Choice, where he lights it up night after night with this superb group.
The tab book can be ordered online.
