Utterly fantastic Chris! Our 1971 MCI is fondly dubbed, "The Challenger;" our bass player Patrick also doubles as our friendly, kind and courteous bus operator who we reverently call "The Bus Whisperer" for being able to navigate hairpin mountain turns and tricky tight parking spots in the 40-ft double-clutch manual monster; and our mandolin player, Jamie, has a knack (and a spare change of clothes) for on-the-road repairs with a handy "phone-a-friend" option to our amazing diesel mechanic back home with whom we are on a first-name basis. But it sure is fun playing down the road and including our family and friends in our trips and travels, which we aren't able to do when we fly or pack into a more reasonably-sized vehicle. All part of the challenges and joys of being on the road.

I have various comments that are swirling around in my head that would apply here... but they all fall into the category of "they wouldn't get it."

So, I might as well go with this reputation buster:

"You could always do what many mainstream bands do and go on the kind of trip where you never leave home."

If I must explain it, then it means you ARE a bluegrass musical artist, no matter what decade in which you came of age.
