House Together video from Lindsay Lou & the Flatbellys

Ionia - Lindsay Lou & the FlatbellysIf you haven’t heard Lindsay Lou & the Flatbellys in a while, you might be surprised by their new look and sound. Their forward-looking bluegrass sound is sliding more towards Americana. Gone is the banjo, except when Lindsay Rilko grabs one up for some clawhammer, and P.J. George is now with the group on bass.

To celebrate the release of their latest self-produced project, Ionia, the band has released a music video for the song, House Together. Like the album, recorded in their group home in Ionia, MI, the video was shot as a live performance.

Typically Lindsay plays guitar, and Mark Lavengood reso-guitar, but Mark has the flattop on this one. Josh Rilko is in his customary role on mandolin.

Ionia is available now from popular download sites, and will be offered for sale soon on CD from the band’s web site.

They will also have copies with them this weekend when they perform in a variety of Kansas City venues during the Folk Alliance convention.
