Hah! It could be construed as funny, as in Roger Miller's maple surple, but somehow, I don't think that was the intent.
Just to clarify, my wife "reminded" me of such thing a chorus...I wasn't referring to that. One song in particular, uses a phrase within the chorus that is repeated. Perpetually.
I tried to count them last night, I swear I did. Once, at about 15, I got distracted, so I tried again. I couldn't make it all the way through the song, I swear, but my high count was 19. So that's it, that's my line in the sand. If the phrase is TNTC, *too numerous to count* it's too many. :)

Better not mention that rhyming requirement to the Music Row publishers. While listening to country radio, I heard the attempted rhyme of "for dinner" and "soprano." It's true.

Such irony. My spouse & I were just talking about this last night. I can't recall reading a negative bluegrass song review...maybe ever. Is it the "if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all" syndrome?
I know, now anyone who records is thinking, "oh my gosh, don't let THAT guy hear our disk!" But I only ask for a few things, & I don't think it's too much.
1. Make sense with your song.
2. If you are trying to rhyme, rhyme. Getting "close" to rhyming is not rhyming.
3. Don't repeat a phrase, any phrase, more than say, 6 or 7 times in a song.

As usual, just too cool. It seems most reviewers are more interested in saying a bunch of crap versus the actual "meat" of the album.

Thank you for another enjoyable and enlightening tutorial. I do believe that an education is best used for a purpose that is good, not evil.
Fortunately, much of my working vocabulary cannot be printed on this website.
