Glenn Gibson to Flamekeeper

Michael Cleveland has announced that Glenn Gibson will be taking up the trusty five string with Flamekeeper, filling the spot recently vacated by banjo picker Charlie Cushman.

Glenn has been known more as a reso slide man of late, having worked with Marty Raybon and Dale Ann Bradley in that capacity. Michael knows a good banjo man when he hears one, so it’s a safe bet that Gibson tears up the five as well. He is also a fine vocalist and songwriter, which surely figured into Cleveland’s decision to hire him on.

His first show with Michael will be this weekend at Pickin’ In The Pasture in Lodi, NY.

This completes the current Flamekeeper lineup: Ashby Frank on mandolin/vocals, Charlie Lawson on guitar/vocals, and Blake Bowan on bass. Michael, of course, is on fiddle.
