Colorado’s Finnders & Youngberg have a new EP with an intriguing title. I Don’t Want Love You Won’t Give Until I Cry offers a half dozen new songs written within the band, recorded in banjo picker Aaron Youngberg’s studio. Talk about a self-contained unit!
Their music walks the line between modern bluegrass and alt-country, enabled by the versatile voices of guitarist Mike Finnders and bass player Erin Youngberg, and her multi-talented husband, Aaron, who plays pedal steel as well as banjo. The band is completed by Ryan Drickey on fiddle and Rich Zimmerman on mandolin.
Since their first project in 2011, fy5, the group has really found their voice. There is a maturity and depth to their music, in both the songwriting and performance, positioning them well to broaden their scope from the Rocky Mountain region, and establish themselves as a national touring act.
