#FlashbackFriday – Gettin’ Pumped for Wide Open Bluegrass!

After the final nominations for the 2014 IBMA Awards were announced this past Wednesday, it’s officially time to start counting down to IBMA Week in Raleigh, NC. The bluegrass community takes over downtown Raleigh September 30 through October 4. The week’s festivities include the World of Bluegrass business conference, the 25th Annual IBMA Awards Show, the Bluegrass Ramble late-night showcases, and the Wide Open Bluegrass festival (formerly known as IBMA Fan Fest).

Last year’s Wide Open Bluegrass was huge success and included many of the top acts in bluegrass. The 2014 lineup looks to be equally impressive, featuring The Earls of Leceister, Hot Rize, The Gibson Brothers, Steep Canyon Rangers, Balsam Range, Yonder Mountain String Band, Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out, Junior Sisk, Jesse McReynolds, Bobby Hicks, Ricky Skaggs & Bruce Hornsby, The Del McCoury Band with Keller Williams and Lee Ann Womack, the “Wide Open Jam” with Sam Bush, Bela Fleck, Jerry Douglas, Edgar Meyer, Bryan Sutton, and Stuart Duncan, and many other great bands! Check out wideopenbluegrass.com for the complete lineup and to purchase tickets.

As we gear up for the 2014 Wide Open Bluegrass festival, let’s reminisce with this small sampling of photos from last year’s festival on a #flashbackfriday!

Don’t forget that you only have until August 28 to register to win free tickets and hotel accommodations for Wide Open Bluegrass 2014.
