Flamekeeper flameout?

Unexpected news regarding one of the hottest bands on the bluegrass circuit…

We have learned that all of the members of Flamekeeper save bandleader Michael Cleveland and new banjo player Charlie Cushman are out of the picture.

Guitarist and primary lead vocalist Tom Adams confirmed the change regarding bass player Marshall Wilborn, mandolinist Jesse Brock and Adams himself.

“Marshall, Jesse and I will no longer be performing with Michael Cleveland & Flamekeeper.

I’ve enjoyed working with Mike immensely and I’m extremely proud of the band’s new album.”

We expect to get more information on Tuesday from Michael’s camp. No doubt he’ll pull a fine band out of his hat in no time.

Ironically, this is reminiscent of the way that Michael, Tom and Rob Baker left Rhonda Vincent’s band en masse in 2001, though Tom says the two situations are vastly different.

Never a dull moment in the wild and wacky world of bluegrass music.
