Bluegrass Today has learned that Earl Scruggs has been hospitalized in North Carolina. We are trying to get additional details, and will post them as they can be confirmed.
What we know is that Scruggs was to have performed a show last night (9/15) on the University of North Carolina campus in Chapel Hill, but was taken to the hospital upon arrival at the venue and did not perform.
More as we learn it…
UPDATE 2:45 p.m. – We have learned from the Scruggs family that Earl’s hospitalization is not a cause for great concern, and that he is feeling much better.
The story is also being followed by David Allen of the Cleveland County Star, the local paper in Scruggs’ hometown of Shelby, NC. David promises to update that site as well as more details emerge.
