Doug Bartlett to Hammertowne

doug_bKentucky’s Hammertowne has announced the addition of Doug Bartlett on fiddle and vocals. They are making the move to a six-piece format just ahead of the release of their Highways & Heartaches album on Mountain Fever in April.

Doug has many years of experience in bluegrass, with time in with Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, Lonesome River Band, and Del McCoury. He is expected to bring even more versatility to the Hammertowne sound, as he will be the fifth lead singer in the group.

He joins Bryan Russell on bass, Scott Tackett on guitar, Brent Pack on banjo, Chaston Carroll on mandolin, and David Carroll on guitar.

David Carroll speaks for the band with high praise for Bartlett.

“Doug is one of the most talented people I know. Not only is he a top tier musician and singer, he is a joy to be around. His fiddle playing is an absolute perfect fit for our music. We’re all just thrilled about the future with Doug in the mix.”

Doug’s first show will be the Hammertowne CD release celebration on April 11 at Simply The Best Sports Bar and Grill in Grayson, KY.

Look for Highways & Heartaches to hit on April 7.
