We have learned that Doc Watson is scheduled to undergo extensive surgery this evening at Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, NC. He was admitted there this morning after his health failed while in another hospital recovering from a fall.
This procedure is to clear an impacted colon, and doctors have said it could involve as much as 8 hours on the table. That would be difficult for anyone, but for an elderly man in poor health, it will be quite an ordeal.
