Dixon Music Park for sale

We heard last night from Bessie Reeder, who with her husband Scott has put on the Pickin’ Time in Dixon festival over Labor Day weekend for 42 years. She tells us that theirs is the oldest bluegrass festival west of the Mississippi, and that the Memorial Day fest coming up will be their 30th.

Bessie has had some health concerns of late. She has just celebrated her second year following a heart transplant, and is doing well, while Scott is in the difficult early stages of recovering from a stroke he suffered last fall. With all these concerns on their minds, the couple has made the painful choice to offer the Dixon Bluegrass Music Park and the festival business for sale.

The park is located in Dixon, MO and the family is hopeful of keeping it in the hands of bluegrass people who will continue the festivals they have nurtured these many years. She invites interested parties to contact her by email or phone (573-759-3544).
