What’s playing in your music device right now? Claire Lynch’s “Crowd Favorites”. Catch the Claire Lynch Band in Memphis area at the Bartlett Performing Arts & Conference Center, 3663 Appling Road, Bartlett, TN, on January 11, 2013…or at Nashville’s Station Inn on January 12, 2013: 402 12th Ave., S., Nashville, TN.

I’ve been catching up with Santa’s recent additions… the Alvin Breeden & The Virginia Cut-Ups – From The Heart Of Virginia CD has been the best today (so far)… |

Currently the FPSB’s LP “Smilin’ at You” is playing on my record player. But other albums that have played in my CD player today include: Della Mae’s “I Built This Heart”, the Dixie Bee-Liner’s “Ripe”, and Hurst&Raines “Two” (that’s been getting a lot of play recently.) P.S. – Crowd Favorites is always a fine choice, Betty! I’m going to see Claire twice next month. |

I’ll have to holler “Uncle!” on this one, Katie! You win! I loved the FPSB, too! Thirty years of Lynch music is just not enough! Will try to get a photo this Friday in the Memphis (Bartlett) area or in Nashville at the Station Inn on Saturday! Should be awesome! Enjoy the upcoming CLB concerts! |

Alright- You’ve talked me into it. For today- FPSB it is. Its would really be difficult not to enjoy anything that includes Claire Lynch.

Looks like today I got a chance to revisit John Starling and Carolina Star, Slidin’ Home. In particular the song Prayer For My Friends. I had forgotten how strong a recording this entire record was from only 5 years ago. Seems to be pretty appropriate with the recent passing of Mike Auldridge. Very fine. Very fine. |

Before leaving my home in Nashville, TN, for the very last time 35+ years ago), I drove around the corner from my home to Green Hills Village and pulled in the parking lot (smallish!) at The Bluebird Cafe on Hillsboro Road. I treated myself to a concert featuring Claire Lynch and John Starling. Talk about a two-fer! It was amazing! Claire’s recent comment about that concert was, “Oh, wow! That was a looooong time ago!” Indeed it was. This past weekend, I have seen 2 concerts by Claire Lynch–200 or so miles apart. Both were sold out! Between those two incredible concerts, I went to Parnassus Books in Green Hills to get a special signature on a special album put out in 1975 by Janis Ian. Remember Janis Ian? Remember her classic “At Seventeen”? She was warm and friendly, and she spent time with each customer who came to buy and/or get her signature. Katie, I do have pics of the Claire Lynch Band, Janis Ian, and me…just so ya know!

Psst…Hey, Katie! That’s me on the right and “you-know-who” on the left. I believe they call her Claire. We are at the Bartlett Performing Arts & Conference Center (near Memphis) on Friday, Jan. 11, 2013. I saw the Claire Lynch Band on the very next night 200+ miles up the road in Nashville at the Station Inn. Both events were sell-outs!
