Bluegrass, Gospel, Old-Time & Western Music…

Based out of the Missouri Ozarks, the Farnum Family performs in the Branson area and around the country. They have been a touring family band for many years. Their blend of entertaining music & homespun family humor has delighted audiences everywhere: from Branson, Missouri to Cody, Wyoming, and the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas!

Daniel provides a solid foundation for the band on the upright bass. Featured on many gospel, Celtic and bluegrass tunes, as well as some very philosophical Cowboy Poetry, his baritone voice shines on Marty Robbins ballads and other cowboy songs. 2015 First Place recipient of the Trails End Cowboy Singing contest in Sedalia, Missouri.

Benjamin keeps rhythm on his Martin D-15 guitar and flat-picks some exciting and intricate instrumentals. His expertise on the mandolin has earned him 2nd place for two-years running at the American Heritage Music Festival in Grove, Oklahoma. He also sings lead and harmony, and with his brother, Daniel, has worked up a novel musical-comedy routine.

Hannah not only sings great harmony vocals, but can also belt out a strong lead in the family quartet. Her fiddling includes bluegrass, traditional Irish and Texas tunes. Placing in several regional contests, she has earned local recognition as a competition fiddler. In 2012 she brought home 3rd place honors from the Walnut Valley Festival in Winfield, Kansas… including a beautiful hand-crafted Gama Elite Romanian violin.

Nathaniel is featured singing dynamic bluegrass and gospel leads. Highlighted on the resonator guitar, he took 3rd in the Dobro Contest at the American Heritage Music Festival. He also plays the Bodhran on many of the Irish tunes.

Maggie also plays fiddle, placing 3rd in her Division at the Branson Fiddle contest two years running, and 2nd at a recent Firehouse Fiddle Contest. Her twin fiddle tunes with big sister Hannah are a popular part of the Farnum Family show. She enjoys singing solo and in trio with Hannah & Mom.

Matthew is learning to play mandolin and joins us on stage for novelty tunes like Uncle Noah’s Ark and Pecos Bill.

Norm (Dad) is the bandleader and brunt of many jokes as the family banjo player. He sings lead and harmony vocals and rarely does a performance pass that he doesn’t croon his most requested Home Grown Tomatoes. He manages bookings, and shares driving and running sound with Daniel and Benjamin. Not to be outdone by his children, he placed 1st in the Banjo Contest at the 2012 American Heritage Music Festival.

Trish (Mom) plays piano in the band and adds the unique sound of the pennywhistle to the Irish tunes. She also sings harmony & lead, and does a graceful job emceeing much of the show. She is also the producer of this family band!

The Farnum Family has provided energetic entertainment in a number of venues including churches, festivals, RV parks, and private events throughout Missouri, the Midwest and many points beyond. For many years they have enjoyed performances at Silver Dollar City during their Bluegrass & BBQ Festival. Recently awarded 2nd place in the 5th Annual CAM Gospel Sing-Off in Branson, they are recipients of various other instrumental awards & vocal recognition. The Farnum Family also looks forward to welcome you to their first season in their distinctive and intimate Spring Street Theater in downtown Reeds Spring, Missouri.

Colossians 3:16 is a favorite scripture for their family music and ministry: “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”
